It’s that time again, time for Weigh in and Shout outs. The first Shout out of the day goes to LaToya, as of July 6 she has lost 3lbs. Tiffany has lost 1lb and is now within her recommended weight for her height. Ella is continuing to burn and average of 1000 calories a day doing Zumba.I am so proud of you ladies, you are all doing a great job. To anyone else who is maybe reading this and has made any kind of change in your life to lose weight or to get healthy and you want to be a part of Shout Out Friday, become a follower or if you are already a follower email me with your progress. Ok on to the other Friday ritual, the weigh in. I weighed myself this morning and I am 173.2. I only lost 4oz in the last 7 days. This week can be a lesson to you as it was to me. I wanted to lose 3lbs this week so I cut back even more on the amount of calories I ate a day and exercised 7 days straight without a day off sometime twice a day. Now the lesson is that your body needs a certain amount of calories to function during the day. The least amount of calories I should consume in a day to lose weight is 1200. If you want to know how many calories you should consume a day you can find out by clicking this link http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm . Also if you exercise you should try to replace the calories you burned while exercising. When you eat too few calories you not only don’t receive adequate nutrition but you more than likely will put your body into starvation mode. Starvation mode lowers your metabolism and makes weight loss more difficult. So even though I was exercising everyday and eating the right type of food I was not eating the right amount. I would average about 600 to 700 calories a day plus I was burning over 300 calories a day. So learn from my mistake and don’t make the same one I did. You cannot starve your way to weight loss, unless you want to be anorexic. So if you are finding that you are trying to make a change in your weight and you don’t seem to be losing any weight, it maybe that you are not eating enough calories a day. Another thing to take note of is the type of foods you eat to get those calories. Yes a slice of a certain type of pizza may only be 220 calories but what else are you getting from that pizza besides the calories? Are you getting potassium, fiber, protein, vitamins, calcium, and iron or just empty calories and fat? Just because you have enough calories to eat a burger everyday that doesn’t mean you should. This is why I love my fitness Pal because when you put your food in it tells you all that information so you can make an informed decision based on all the food facts and not just based on the amount of calories something has. I learned a good lesson and I was able to share it with you guys. That doesn’t make the 4oz worth it but I am happy I was able to share that lesson. I have decided that I am going to try to reach my caloric intake goal everyday this week and see how this number is different on next Friday.
